With the mayor of Baltimore City, Stephanie Rawlings Blake, who recognized me from Take Back the Night in April earlier this year! ;)
Raisa and I volunteered today in Hunt Valley for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure--Maryland. Man did we work in the Survivors' Tent! There was such a huge turn out of people (thousands!) that we worked relentlessly. We deemed great benefits however as many survivors thanked us for our time and shared their inspiring stories. While breast cancer has not personally impacted my life, being a survivor of anything that can cause trauma is important; I was glad to help...
The promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. I applaud this outstanding organization and the cause for the hard work and international awareness it has been able to spread.
Raisa gets a ribbon!
Some of the coolest survivors I have ever met! :)
