This was an amazing night at the first ever W.A.V.E. (Women Against Violence Everywhere) "Purple Party and Purple Poetry Reading". Each person who gave a $30 donation got unlimited domestic beer, house wine and delicious appetizers to enjoy while listening to moving poetry readings from the newly published Purple Poetry book and socializing with other civic-minded party-goers. I am very proud to have come up with the idea for this fundraiser and to have put the Purple Poetry Book together! However, without the efforts of the W.A.V.E members and Brenna Frania, who organized the Purple Party, this would not have been possible. I am honored to work with such wonderful and hardworking people who truly care about ending violence against women. |
