Volunteering for the Bloomin' 5K Race

The Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce held its second annual Bloomin 5k Run today. The Bloomin' 5k Run will benefit the Cancer and Infusion Therapy Centers at Northwest and Sinai Hospitals and will also help support the Chamber.

State-of-the-art LifeBridge facilities at Sinai and Northwest Hospitals provide chemotherapy other infusion services on an outpatient basis. Teams of specially trained physicians, oncology nurses and other staff provide compassionate care to patients in a comfortable and safe environment. Through the Bloomin' 5k, runners provided support to these extremely important facilities that help so many in our community.

I did so much while volunteering today, including...

Meeting up with my Owings Mills Fire Fighter friends who were still thanking me for food and gifts I donated to them last year!

Trying to seek a healthy alternative to my addiction to Mountain Dew by talking to Switch representatives. Switch is a carbonated water and natural juice "soda".

Helping man the fruit stand...
Making Post Run breakfast with the help of "Jerry's Pancakes" who used to work for IHOP! I still do not have the secret recipe though...

Laughing with Katie...

Talking with Katie... a very smart almost 3 year old.

High-fiving participants as they finished the race...

Awarding the winners during the closing ceremony...

Passing out water as runners finished the race!

Having runners juggle for me as I helped to man the fruit stand...
What a fulfulling experience! :D
