A Compliment from a Friend...

One of my newest friends on Change.org, Beth, sent me the following message. I thought it would be appropriate to add to my poem, The Uniformed:

What the women of the Congo have endured must be unimaginable for those of us living in the United States. Sexual assault happens everywhere, but not on this grand scale. Where can they hide? In whom can they trust? Only each other? Sometimes the world forgets to pay attention, even when their cries are loud. We have to add our voices to make them listen. I see from your page that you have done some wonderful work. You do, indeed, make the world a better place.
